Realizing Autonomy Conference: Call for Papers
We plan to publish Conference Proceedings as a special issue of the LD SIG online newsletter, Learning Learning, which we have tentatively scheduled for publication in late spring 2012.
We would like to encourage you to submit an article of your Workshop/Round Table/MyShare practice and reflection. In addition, we welcome submissions from participants (presenters and non-presenters) of more reflective articles that engage with one or more of the issues that were featured at the conference.
Because we are publishing online, we can be quite flexible with word limits; however, we would suggest that articles be in the region of 2,500-3,000 words (not including appendices), and reflective articles, 1,500-2,500 words. Articles should be formatted in APA and follow JALT Publications style guidelines (see TLT or JALT Conference Proceedings for reference).
Submissions should be sent to the co-editors as Word document attachments. In addition to their article, authors should attach separate files containing 1) an abstract in Japanese of less than 80 characters, 2) a short biographical statement of less than 100 words, and 3) any tables, figures and appendices.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday, December 29th.
LD SIG’s customary practice is to accept all (or nearly all) submissions, but these are then subjected to a rigorous process of development and editing in order to reach a standard on a par with publications of international standing. The editing team will be headed by Kay Irie: kayirie AT mark mac.com and Alison Stewart: stewart1411 AT mark gmail.com, and will include a number of experienced editors who have worked on LD SIG publications in the past and present.
We welcome new members to the editorial team, and we would be pleased to work with you if you would like to join us, regardless of whether or not you are submitting an article.
We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Kay Irie & Alison Stewart
