Call for Papers for Learner Development (LD) SIG & Framework and Language Portfolio (FLP) SIG members

Sunday March 28thConference theme This year’s Nakasendo Conference sees the FLP SIG and LD SIG collaborating on the theme of self-assessment under the umbrella conference theme of ‘Teachers as Learners, Learners as Teachers’.
SIG focus Learner Development aims to focus on self-assessment issues in the classroom (and/or in self-access, virtual learning and other types of extra-mural learning), while Framework and Language Portfolio intends to look at learner training for self-assessment.
Areas of concern might include any of the following:
- appropriate self-assessment tools and genres (discussion, questionnaires, learning, logs and diaries, journal writing, portfolios, among others)
- benefits, drawbacks and threats that self-assessment offers
- dealing with disparities in self-assessment
- L1/L2 use in self-assessment
- learner positions towards self-assessment
- near-peer models in self-assessment
- peer roles in self-assessment
- problems and challenges in moving from test-based evaluation to self-assessment
- questions of reliability and trustworthiness in self-assessment
- self-assessment and autonomous learning
- self-assessment and language advising
- self-assessment and learner and teacher identities
- self-assessment in and/or across different skills areas
- self-assessment of skills, knowledge development, and/or language development
- self-regulation and self-assessment
- stages in the development of self-assessment
- teacher roles in learner self-assessment
- the development of context-sensitive descriptors for self-assessment
- the personalization of self-assessment
- the selection and negotiation of areas of focus for self-assessment
- the use of technology in self-assessment, and so on…
